For twenty-eight years, the Camarina bullfighting association has awarded a trophy to the best bull on the first day of the Palme d’Or and organized an evening in his honor as well as that of all those involved in the Camargue race. This year, the bull Adal, from the Du Ternen herd, earned this trophy, a trophy which will be presented to the herdsmen during the evening of Friday, November 10 at the municipal casino.
This evening is always an opportunity, for Camarina, to shine the world of bouvine, to bring its different protagonists and aficionados to meet and of course, to have a good time among good people around a good meal lively with fiery discussions regarding Camargue culture. Thierry Peyret, the president of the association, as well as the entire office, have put together a detailed program so that the Camarinians, their families and loved ones, spend a memorable evening.
Christiane Chamand-Debenest’s singing tour
First of all, a 3.30m film, which relates the bullfighting season, the Palme d’Or, the carnivalesque abrivado, the hundred bulls, etc. will be shown to the audience. Then, Christiane Chamand-Debenest, the artist who sings regarding the world of bouvine, of which she is an illustrious member, will present her creations, hung for the occasion at the municipal casino.
Finally, following a review of the Beaucair bullfighting season by Jean-Pierre Odes, former president of Camarina, and just before the aperitif offered by the association, the trophy will be symbolically presented to the bull Adal. All these good memories and these beautiful projects will have whetted the appetite of the audience, Camarina therefore called on Gus caterer who took particular care of a meal with festive flavors which will give the guests a foretaste of the end-of-year celebrations . The gypsy musical atmosphere, provided by Tchandro, will also invite the party to the meeting.
Sunday, November 12, Camarina and the Escolo de tradicioun de Bèu-caire will organize a big lottery at the Le chalet space.
