While the Journal de Montréal devoted a report to the issue, many motorists are wondering if it is the right time to go electric.

Unlike last year, the supply has increased at dealerships nationwide.

In an interview on LCN, Mr. Joubert stressed that electric models were not suitable for 10% of motorists.

“Those who do a lot of mileage in a single day, those who have major towing needs or those who live in the city where it is almost impossible to recharge on a daily basis,” he lists.

For the rest of the population, who travel 100 km or less per day, driving electric is possible if the model and price suit you.

The subsidies offered by the provincial and federal governments, totaling $12,000, are also “too generous,” says the Car Guide columnist.

“To collectively offer an amount of $12,000 to each person who purchases an electric vehicle,” he said, adding that a motorist can benefit from government credits once more if he buys another electric vehicle, provided that this the latter circulates in Quebec.
