Lebanese Forces Party Elections: Samir Geagea’s Solidarity with Gaza and Efforts to Protect Lebanon from Chaos

The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, pointed out following the closing of the ballot boxes in the elections for the party’s executive body and the announcement of the results by the party’s Secretary-General, Emile Moukarzel, that “there is open hell in Gaza, and we are in solidarity with its people, and we will continue all our efforts to prevent Lebanon from being plunged into hell itself.”

Geagea added, “The highest position in the Forces is not the head of the party, but rather the fighting forces.”

He continued, “I thank the Secretary-General and the entire General Secretariat for the great effort they made and everyone who participated in preparing for this day. We hope that the state will take a lesson from what happened today in the upcoming elections to be electronic.”

Geagea added, “I can only remember all the martyrs of the Forces and tell them that the order was carried out.”

He continued, “If the government does not assume its responsibility for what is happening on the border, we must move through the House of Representatives to urge it to do its job.”

The election day ended in Maarab to choose the members of the executive body of the Lebanese Forces, and 18,321 out of 31,000 members voted, a rate of 58.9 percent.

The party’s Secretary-General, Emile Moukarzel, announced the results, which were as follows:

For prevalence: Joseph Gebaili won
-For Beirut, winner: Daniel Spiro
-For Mount Lebanon, Eddie Abi Lamaa, Maya Zaghrini and Tony Karam won
For the North, Antoine Zahra, Wahbi Qatisha and Elie Keyrouz won
-For the Bekaa, Bashir Matar and Michel Tannouri won
For the South, Asaad Saeed won
