direct: The general index of the Amman Stock Exchange ended trading on Sunday, declining by 0.01 percent to reach the level of 2414.05 points, losing 0.14 points from its levels at the end of last Thursday’s session.
The performance of the Amman Index today was affected by the decline of the financial sector index alone by 0.34 percent, with Cairo Amman Bank declining by 1.46 percent, and the Jordan Islamic Bank declining by 1.22 percent.
Limiting the decline in the financial sector, United Financial Investments shares topped the winners in the first market today by 4.04 percent.
On the other hand, the indices of the industrial and services sectors rose, and the former rose by 0.39 percent, supported by the stock of phosphate mines, which rose by 1.85 percent, and Mbedco rose by 1.48 percent.
The services sector index rose by 0.22 percent, driven by a rise in Al-Israa Education shares by 1.35 percent, and Jopetrol rose by 0.83 percent.
The rise in the services sector was limited by the advance of International Education shares over the decliners in the primary market today by 1.61 percent.
Today’s trading volume rose to 5.31 million shares, compared to 3.39 million shares in last Thursday’s session, and trading value rose to 5.02 million dinars, compared to 3.28 million dinars in the previous session.
