TE Connectivity continues to strengthen its presence in Morocco. Thus, the world leader in connectors and sensors has just inaugurated, Wednesday October 25, its new factory on its campus at the Tanger Med industrial platform. Considered the fourth industrial site created by TE Connectivity in Morocco, this state-of-the-art facility is intended to manufacture electrical components to meet customer needs in rapidly evolving industrial markets, such as electric vehicles, factory automation, battery and energy storage systems, and lighting.

Present in Tangier for more than ten years, “we are satisfied with the availability of talents and the favorable investment climate put in place by the Moroccan government,” explained Vish Ananthan, senior vice-president and general manager of the activity. industrial plant of TE Connectivity, before adding that with the entry into service of this fourth new factory in Morocco, the group is determined to strengthen its presence there to be able to improve service levels for its customers in the EMEA region.

This new industrial site, which covers a total area of ​​20,000 m², allows it to strengthen its manufacturing capacities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It is intended to offer a wide range of capabilities, including casting, overmolding, assembly, design engineering and project management. This allows it to play a central role in the manufacturing of essential components for key product lines that enable the connection, identification and tracking of electrical components in industrial markets. “This project will help meet the growing demand for innovative and quality electrical solutions and strengthen supply chains across the EMEA region,” said Amine Belhaj Soulami, chief of staff of the Ministry of Industry and Development. trade, noting that “this feat is attributable to the quality of the Moroccan industrial platform and our remarkable human capital which makes the difference in terms of competitiveness”.

This new TE Connectivity facility adds to an already established ecosystem within Tanger Med, which includes more than 150 renowned global OEMs and suppliers. Which proves that Morocco in general and Tangier in particular enjoy great confidence among major global operators.

“The opening of this fourth manufacturing plant demonstrates the confidence we have in Moroccan talent and the prospects that the country can offer us, which benefits from a strategic position and proximity to all of our customers. , particularly the European and African markets,” said Ayoub Daoudi, senior director and general manager of TE Connectivity North Africa.

Like TE Connectivity’s other investments in Morocco, this fourth new industrial site is a major job generator, with 1,000 additional jobs expected by mid-2024. Moreover, the group has decided to expand its local operations to value-added production and engineering, such as product development. “This site is of strategic importance in the development of TE Connectivity’s presence in Morocco. It will bring new solutions to the existing European market, but also to the local and African markets,” said Youssef Chentouf, director of this new industrial unit, noting that like the other TE Connectivity sites, this new factory is installed to be to the “highest technical standards”.

Note that TE Connectivity Maroc currently employs more than 3,500 people in a very large industrial campus with four manufacturing plants located in Tangier free zone TFZ, Tanger automotive city (TAC) I, TAC II as well as a distribution center in Tanger Med for its logistics operations.
