Centro Español gave the big blow at the start of the quarterfinals of the PreFederal basketball tournament. They beat Deportivo Roca (79-72) at the Gimena Padín and, with the home field on their side, they will try to finish the series at El Templo de Plottier. The other two keys began with comfortable victories for the homeowners: Pacífico beat Biguá (105-86) with a colossal Lucas Villanueva and Del Progreso had no problems defeating Cipolletti (96-69).
The duel of the fourth crossing between Independiente and Pérfora was suspended. The Plaza Huincul delegation might not reach the provincial capital due to the road closure in the Arroyito area and will be rescheduled.
Brave bull in rocky land
In a key with an even forecast, Centro Español struck first and did so with solvency at the Gimena Padín de Roca. Except for the beginning of the game, the rest was all for Torito, who always won in the long breaks: 24-23, 49-43 and 64-61.
Franco Leal was the top scorer in Patricio Denegri’s quintet, with 20, seconded by Maximiliano Daldosso, with 13; while at Depo Lucca Brunet’s 23 and Adolfo García Barros’ 18 were not enough. Torito’s 19-29 (66%) in doubles was decisive in the game. Depo finished with 42% (13-31).
The 41 of Villanueva
Pacífico, the champion, confirmed his status as favorite and beat Biguá with authority in Viejo Ramírez. It was a job from low to high, with the following partials: 28-25, 59-42 and 83-63. Even more decisive was the rebound data, because the Dean won that battle convincingly: 59-26, with 13 from Sebastián Godoy, 12 from Villanueva and 10 from Luca Romera 10.
Lucas had a tremendous night, because he scored 41 points and achieved a rating of 39, Giuliano Sasso (17), Diego Macedo (15) and Alex Soria (12) were the perfect sides. In Biguá, Marko Pamich (25), Facundo Ramadori (19) and Nicolás Correnti (15) stood out.
Of Progress, from beginning to end
At the Gigante on Maipú Street, Del Progreso left no doubts and beat Albinegro with scores of 24-18, 50-33 and 74-52. In this way he ended the clean and jerk of Cipo, who had just given the surprise of reclassification with two away wins over Petrolero, in La Cueva de Plaza Huincul.
Enzo Facelli and Nicolás Kalalo, with 19 points each and Ignacio Murias, with 17, were the main avenues of goal for Marcos Fernández’s team, which also had the classic double-double from Gustavo Maranguello (10 points and 10 rebounds). Lautaro Barrera, with 14, and Tomás Guychaleo, with 13, were Cipolletti’s top scorers.
