Along with the mosaic, a giant surfer banner will be unfurled over the Stretford End.
The banners are created by supporters group Stretford End Flags and you can see them in production in the video above.
The players will wear black armbands and a minute of applause will precede kick-off. Alan Keegan, the stadium announcer, will announce the start and end of the match.
Former United and City players will be on the pitch for the minute’s applause.
