A young woman says she immediately recognized the Lewiston shooter when she saw his face on television, and for good reason: as a bartender, she used to serve him at the Schemengees Bar & Grille restaurant.

The gunman, Robert Card, killed 18 people and injured 13 when he opened fire overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in a restaurant and a bowling alley.
Bethany Walker, who previously worked as a bartender at Schemengees Bar & Grille restaurant, said she recognized Mr Card as soon as she saw his face on television.

“He was a familiar face…in a small town like here, everyone knows everyone […]. Then I thought I had probably already talked to him,” she told CNN News.

His father, Joseph Walker, was among Robert Card’s victims.

“I worked at Schemengees restaurant and bar for several years and my father always told me that if something happened, I had to defend myself,” said Bethany Walker.
Mr Walker was the manager of the Schemengees restaurant and bar. He allegedly tried to charge the shooter with a kitchen knife, but was shot twice in the stomach.
