Motorola Moto G84: Camera test

2023-10-27 12:32:00

In cameras, the Moto G84 arrived with a more optimized set. There are two sensors on the back, a 50MP main one with optical stabilization and another with 8MP and an ultrawide lens, this time I’m going to praise Motorola because it removed that 2MP macro sensor that was useless, now the macro photos are taken together with the ultrawide lens. To top it off, we have a 16MP front camera.

Daytime photos

In daytime photos, Motorola has been doing well, the HDR works, the colors are balanced, nothing exaggerated, photos that I consider to be of excellent quality. I noticed that the sharpness improved considerably in the photos, something I really liked.

Moto G84 daytime photo

I like taking this photo, firstly because I’m riding a bike, secondly the place is beautiful, the sunset there is nice and makes for great photos. We can see the exalted colors once more, not exaggeratedly, but vividly. The HDR worked a lot to make the sky not pop so much, just above the bank was the sun, so it’s ok.

Daytime photo

This other photo below is in the backyard, a morning photo, we can see the improvement that Motorola has made in sharpness, the photos are coming out with good quality.

morning photo

Low light

Has Motorola improved in low light? This first photo of the sunset shows that we have good sharpness, the sky has a nice dynamic range.

Low light

Now we have the standard night photo that we tested here, there is plenty of sharpness and vivid colors.

Moto G84 night photo

Another night photo, this one has lighting, but the highlight is being able to capture the interior of the house well, without blowing out the external areas and the places where it is really dark, the image was good, without a lot of noise.

Low light

Ultrawide

The ultrawide photos follow the same style as the main one, but lose a lot of quality. Look at the photo below, it’s a difficult photo to deal with, it has the sun in the background and the trees creating shadow. But the main camera takes this photo perfectly.

Foto Ultrawide

Another example below shows the same characteristic, bright colors, good dynamic range, but very dark areas, that’s not what I was seeing.

Ultrawide

This is the main reason why we shouldn’t have a sensor with 50MP as the main sensor and only 8MP as the ultrawide. The balance of the two brings a better set.

Selfies

Selfies have been improved, now HDR is very good, see these photos once morest the light, great sharpness, without blowing out the background.

Selfie once morest light

Congratulations Motorola. When it illuminates the face it looks even better.

Selfie with plenty of light

Now the problem happens at night, the selfies lose sharpness, there is a lot of noise in the photo, unfortunately this is a point that Motorola fails.

Night selfie

videos

In videos, this smartphone can only record in FULLHD at 30 or 60FPS, there is no 4K option on it, on any of the sensors, which is a shame.
