More than 4,000 spectators filled the stands at Les Mélèzes on Sunday for the arrival of Olten! How many will there be this Friday evening, October 27 during the match between HC La Chaux-de-Fonds and HC Thurgovie, in the Swiss Ice Hockey League? The Ultras will of course be present to set the mood and encourage the rest of the public to speak up. They will at least be accompanied by members of the Ice Bee Fan’s club: this new association of supporters was born at the start of the year following the enthusiasm generated by the title of champion. It has ad hoc statutes and also aims to help the club financially through different actions: “Our main goal is to raise funds for the club. And from the moment there is a question of money, it is important to have something official,” explains Anne Rollat, co-president of the Ice Bee Fan’s club.
The Ice Bee Fan’s club has not yet shown itself by setting up a particular event or supporting a special action. However, he will participate in the organization of the Silent Party which will be held on November 4 at the junior refreshment bar in Les Mélèzes. He does not hide his desire to bring back into fashion “the puck throw” which enlivens the breaks during matches: “We did not imagine when our association was created that there would be so many authorized games, management and security aspects to be resolved. We were slowed down by these administrative procedures,” said Alexandre Meyer, the second co-president of the Ice Bee Fan’s club.
By forming an association, the Ice Bee Fan’s club has an official status unlike the Ultras. But it was not created to stand out from supporters, present at all matches both at home and away and who make a lot of noise in every sense of the word: “To each their own place”, judges Anne Rollat. “The Ultras are important in the ice rink. They are still there. After us, we can open up to more people. An elderly supporter will rarely identify with the Ultras.” /mne
