The Seamaster Planet Ocean Dark Gray has been designed in state-of-the-art ceramic
OMEGA’s Seamaster collection has long been synonymous with revolutionary technology and innovative new materials. This year once more, this technical heritage continues with the launch of the new Planet Ocean Dark Gray – a bold watch made from silicon nitride-type ceramic [Si3N4].
This is the first time that OMEGA has used silicon nitride on such a large scale in a watch part. The result is a watch that is as light as it is robust, ready for adventure.

The lightness of silicon nitride provides greater comfort on the wrist, while its robustness guarantees unfailing resistance for major explorations. On the construction side, this material with dark gray highlights was used for the 45.5 mm case, the patented “NAIAD LOCK” back and the bezel ring.
In contrast, OMEGA used grade 5 titanium for the body of the bezel, the bracelet’s folding clasp as well as the sandblasted dial, itself equipped with anthracite indexes and hands. This specific titanium standard, favored in particular by the aerospace industry, improves the robustness of the watch without making it heavier.

To stay in the same spirit, the movement also sports a dark aesthetic. The OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 8906, equipped with a GMT function, is an ultra-light creation in grade 5 titanium which guarantees exceptional precision and performance. It is revealed through a sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. In line with the impressive underwater technology specific to the Seamaster family, this watch is waterproof up to 600 meters deep.
