Three watches never offered at auction shine among the star lots of The Geneva Watch Auction: XVIII organized by Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo in Geneva on November 3 and 4 at the Hotel La Réserve. The first is a Patek Philippe, the Nautilus ref. 3700P in platinum. The third example of its kind, it is also the only one known without indexes and a diamond-set bezel. Estimate: from 1 to 2 million francs.
The second is a Rolex ref. 6062 steel showing the same estimate. It must be said that with its moon phase calendar, it is one of the most coveted references from the crown brand. As for the third, it is at the top of the independent companies represented by sales. A selection that tends to expand over the years as this type of piece is so successful. The watch in question is a Georges Daniels Anniversary in platinum, the No. 1 of four examples to have seen the light of day. It is estimated at 700,000 to 1.4 million francs.

The Kandjar watch
The list of treasures going under Phillips’ hammer does not end there, however. Among the behemoths, we find a trio of Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronographs, including a first series ref. 2499 in yellow gold estimated between 800,000 and 1.6 million francs. As well as a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. 6265, also in yellow gold, whose golden dial punctuated with black sub-dials is decorated with the emblem of Oman, the kandjar. In its center it features the famous dagger with a curved blade that the men of the sultanate wear at their waist during ceremonies (estimate: 300,000 – 600,000 francs).
But we will also note this very beautiful Sonnerie Souveraine by FPJourne with a black dial estimated between 500,000 and 1 million francs and this prototype of the Simplicity by Philippe Dufour equipped with a 34 mm case in pink gold. As for the Radiomir Guido Panerai & Figlio PAM01346, powered by an Angelus SF240 movement dating from 1961, it was specially created for this sale. Because all of the profits will be donated to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. His estimate? Between 60,000 and 120,000 francs.

Finally, a non-commercial exhibition will be included as part of the dispersion. It will present some 25 of the most important timepieces produced by Urban Jürgensen, all from the private collection of Dr Helmut Crott. Enough to illustrate two hundred and fifty years of history.
