BOISE, Idaho – Genevieve Crenshaw, a senior on the Boise State soccer team, has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 18-24.
The goalkeeper led the Broncos to crucial wins over Nevada and UNLV. She racked up seven saves, allowing only one goal between the two matches, and played the full 90 minutes of each match.
With a shutout once morest UNLV, Crenshaw now has a program-record 19 shutouts in her career. It was the Blue and Orange’s fourth shutout of the season and second in Mountain West play.
Boise State’s 8-1-1 record in conference play marks their best in program history and the victories over Nevada and UNLV guarantees the Broncos will finish the regular season no lower than third place in the MW.
Following her defensive efforts over the week, Crenshaw was named the MW Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Boise State will close the regular season in Boise once morest Utah State on Thursday at 7 p.m., at Boas Soccer Complex. If the Broncos win, they will clinch at least a share of the regular-season title and a bye in the conference tournament.
