Actor and musician John Stamos revealed the problems he faced during his marriage to actress Rebecca Romijn, and how he felt like an “underdog” with her.
The actor spoke regarding the internal conflict he endured as he watched her career take off while on “late” mode, during Tuesday’s episode of “The Howard Stern Show” on SiriusXM.
He said in the interview: “I loved her and I thought she was very talented. So I was happy to do it. But I forgot regarding my own things. She was outgoing and I didn’t care regarding mine. And it wasn’t her fault.”
However, Stamos, 60, said he didn’t think his relationship with the former Victoria’s Secret model, 50, was meant to last forever.
The former couple got engaged in 1997 and married the following year, but the actor later filed for divorce in August 2004.
Stamos admitted that he thought Romijn was “the devil” during their divorce, saying, “I really hated her. I mightn’t believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life.”
He added: “The prevailing view was that she dumped me because her career was going well. I don’t blame her for that. It was just the perception people had.”
It is reported that he married for the second time to Caitlin McHugh in 2018 and they have a son named Billy. As for Romijn, she married Jerry O’Connell in 2007 and they have twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly.
