Patricia Bullrich announced this Wednesday that she will support Javier Milei, candidate for president of La Libertad Avanza, in the second electoral round once morest Sergio Massa, of Unión por la Patria.
The leader of the PRO, and candidate for president for Together for Change, made the announcement in her office in the City of Buenos Aires, accompanied by the radical Luis Petri.
“We have differences with Javier Milei, we do not hide them. However, we find ourselves in the dilemma of mafia continuity, or change. And the majority of Argentines chose a change,” said Bullrich, adding: “We must join forces for a higher objective.”
Asked regarding the differences with Milei (due to the libertarian’s accusations), Bullrich confirmed that he had met with the candidate and that there was a request for mutual forgiveness. “And that forgiveness is worth it,” explained the leader. In addition, she announced that they had made a “private agreement.”
Regarding the position of the UCR, which declared itself neutral, Bullrich said that each party “has freedom of action.”
“In our case, we feel a responsibility for having been the ballot that people put in the envelope. We are Patricia Bullrich and Luis Petri. We want to send that message to the more than 6 million people who gave us their trust,” she responded. And he asked: “Let’s hope this doesn’t mean a break in the internal dialogue.”

Co-government
Asked if the agreement with Milei also had to do with the distribution of future positions in a future Libertarian government, Bullrich denied it.
“Our talk ended certain confrontations. We are not talking regarding the government, we are not in an agreement or a pact with Milei. Our position towards the society that voted for us is to tell them what we believe Argentina needs. There is no co-government dialogue here. It is a political and strategic position,” described Bullrich.
“If Kirchnerism wins, Together for Change will be completely dissolved,” said the leader.
Petri also spoke. He did it to affirm that “there is freedom of action”,
“We have the obligation to speak out. There are more than 6 million Argentines who voted for us. We know that there are differences within Together for Change. Therefore, the most important thing, to maintain the unity of Together for Change, is to give freedom of action,” said the man from Mendoza.
And he remarked: “Neutrality is functional to Kirchnerism.”
The reasons
“We want to frame this conference. Here is the formula that was represented on Sunday, and that was democratically elected in Las Paso. Within the framework of that, we do not come to represent our parties, but to have achieved the representation of our formula,” Bullrich clarified at the beginning of the conference.
Then, he advanced on the justification of his position. “For us, as San Martín said, when the country is in danger, everything is allowed except not defending it. Together with Luis Petri we ratify our staunch defense of the values of change and freedom,” he stated.
“The urgency of the moment challenges us not to be neutral,” added Bullrich. “For 20 years Cristina, Alberto Fernández, Masa and many more have plunged us into this decline. Argentina cannot restart a new Kirchnerist cycle led by Massa. “That would mean a new populist cycle,” he explained.
Among other reasons, which he detailed in a list of several points, Bullrich said that today it is “necessary to eradicate inflation” in the country.
Reunion
The announcement came hours following a meeting held on Tuesday night between Mauricio Macri, Bullrich and Milei.
According to sources close to Macrismo, the meeting was at the former president’s house. There, differences were ironed out and progress was made in a support agreement for the libertarian candidate.
