Supplementation of vitamin D improves back pain and quality of life for as short as 4 weeks to up to 26 weeks. Accordingly, measuring blood vitamin D concentration in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis and supplementing vitamin D in case of deficiency has been shown to improve treatment results.
