Dubai, October 24 / WAM / The Dubai Taxi Corporation, affiliated with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, employs artificial intelligence technology to monitor and track the performance of drivers and the movements of its vehicles (taxis, limousines, school buses, commercial buses, and motorcycles).
Ammar Al-Buraiki, Director of Fleet Operations Department at the Dubai Taxi Corporation, said: We are always keen to highlight the efforts of the control center and inform the public and road users of the Corporation’s role in benefiting from smart technologies and systems to monitor and track 7,200 vehicles, and monitor and track the performance of 14,500 drivers. The center’s tasks also include helping senior management to make appropriate decisions flexibly and in record time, in addition to providing a main calendar of events organized in the Emirate of Dubai to distribute the taxi fleet according to demand, and redirect vacant vehicles to areas with high demand.
Through the center, the behavior of drivers and the extent of their commitment to the controls specified for 400 limousines, 1,000 school buses, and 600 delivery bicycles are monitored. The center also monitors the path of vehicles and ensures the safety of transportation operations. The Foundation is keen to track 1,000 school buses to ensure the safety of students and their arrival to schools and homes on time. This is done by monitoring the progress of trips, student information, the extent of drivers’ adherence to working hours, observing their behavior, and providing an immediate alert service when necessary.
The center monitors 5,200 taxi vehicles to ensure continuous service availability around the clock, provides support to drivers, responds to their calls, directs them to the places most in demand for service, measures the daily efficiency of vehicle movement, analyzes data, and takes the necessary measures to raise the level of performance in line with customers’ needs.
