Hours pass and the world of Colombian television is still in shock over the death of actress Alejandra Villafañe. On a recent Saturday, following 3 pm, information began to circulate in different groups of national models and presenters that most might not believe. Then, unfortunately, came confirmation from the family of the charismatic Miss Earth 2014.

Villafañe, 34, had been diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. And although her news took her by surprise, her illness never took away her smile. In fact, as several of her friends have expressed, the official face of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) always stood out for transmitting hope, even in the most difficult situations.
This Wednesday, starting at 9 am, a heartfelt tribute to the memory of Villafañe will be held at the Capillas de la Fe funeral home, in the south of Cali, the city where the psychologist also forged the wings that allowed her to reach thousands of hearts in the country. And hours before the funeral services begin, her friends and family share the way Villafañe dreamed of being remembered. In the words of her loved ones, the way she will be.

‘Your soul knew how fleeting you would be on this plane’

In a conversation with several of her loved ones, Villafañe remarked that she always wanted to be remembered with a smile. Friends who went through hard times say that her energy was incredible and that, precisely, the greatest tribute they might pay her was to continue celebrating her life.
In fact, in the last few hours, the messages that Villafañe herself shared in this regard have circulated on the social networks of Villafañe’s loved ones.

“Aleja, remember that with a little smile you want them to remember you… although they can also see you angry, sad, serious and even annoying… but it always comes back!” Villafañe said regarding his longing, in an old Instagram post.
“This is how I want you to remember me, this is how I want to remember you, smiling sincerely, smiling with happiness… squeezing your eyes tightly trying to save those moments forever… squeezing your eyes I can always see you and you can see me smiling once more. For you and for everyone I love so much, I keep them smiling, I keep them present,” he noted in another, in the midst of pain over the death of one of his relatives.
And now, Claudia Villafañe, one of her cousins, echoes her feelings.
“You always talked regarding how you wanted us to remember you, your soul knew how fleeting you would be on this plane. You did not prepare us to say goodbye, may God grant us in his time, to meet once more, baby,” the photographer noted in a ‘storie ‘ from Instagram.
The funeral of Alejandra Villafañe Osorio will take place this Wednesday, October 25, at a time that has yet to be confirmed.
