Stellantis’ small electric utilities are updated. On the program: revised faces, new equipment and better autonomy.
“Pro One”. Under this name lies Stellantis’ offensive in utility vehicles. A very important business, since it represents a third of Stellantis’ turnover, with 1.6 million sales worldwide per year. The objective by 2030 is to double net turnover compared to 2021 and to achieve 40% of sales with electric models. Stellantis also repeats that it is the first group to have offered a 100% electric offer for all its vans.
To achieve its ambitious objectives, the group pulled out all the stops by unveiling a completely renewed range at a conference. The three big families have thus gone through the restyling box. Here to begin the redesign of the smallest models, offered on the Stellantis side by four brands here, namely the Citroën Berlingo, the Fiat Doblo, the Opel Combo and the Peugeot Partner (the Toyota cousin has not yet been changed) .
For many, it’s an opportunity to update themselves with the latest aesthetic identities for their brand. The Berlingo, for example, receives the new Citroën logo, with chevrons in an oval. Gone are the chrome bars, instead there is a black strip between the optics. The Combo adopts the Vizor grille, continuing the headlights, with the brand’s specific lighting signature. At Peugeot, the new emblem is now placed directly on the bodywork. “E” patterns make the link with the optics. The Fiat is also evolving, although it appeared in 2022. The shields are new, as are certain rims or hubcaps. The rest of the exterior, however, is unchanged.
In the passenger compartments, we find new steering wheels, this time with paddles to manage energy recovery depending on the load level. In the center there is an enlarged touchscreen, which goes from 8 to 10 inches. The Berlingo can receive new “Advanced Comfort” seats, which according to the brand are distinguished “by their elaborate architecture associated with specific lateral supports as well as high-quality foam and fabric”.
The models are becoming more technological, with for example semi-autonomous driving which combines adaptive cruise control and lane keeping. The central rearview mirror can display images filmed by a rear camera. Innovation: there can also be images filmed via a camera under the rear view mirror on the passenger side, practical for parking.
The electric version of all these models retains the 100 kW unit, or 136 hp. The brands indicate that thanks to work on efficiency, the WLTP mixed autonomy will increase by 20%, to around 330 km, which makes them benchmarks in the segment. The models gain the heat pump. As standard, there is a 7.4 kW on-board charger. As an option, you can have an 11 kW three-phase charger. Fast charging is at 100 kW maximum.
