They might soon set foot on the lawns of Clairefontaine. Six young football players will participate in the U15 Women’s Interleague selection camp, which will be held in Sinnamary from October 27 to 29, 2023. The chosen girls will join the Overseas selection, which will meet recruiters at the end of November.

The Guyana Football League will welcome delegations from Guadeloupe, Martinique and Saint-Martin from October 27 to 29. 19 players from the West Indies and Guyana will participate in a selection course as part of the U15 Interleague detections Feminine.

On the program for this internship: oppositions, job-specific workshops, individual interviews and video feedback as well as interventions on the game project and high-level expectations“, informs the Guyana Football League.

Six Guyanese women were selected to participate:

Nelsiana AWETE of Cosma Foot

Rubensia FORSTER of Loyola OC
Doryane JEAN-FORT SCK
Romana PADDIE by ASC Agouado

Among the 19 players, six to eight girls will go to Clairefontaine from November 29 to December 1. They will join the Overseas selection (with Réunion, Mayotte, Polynesia and New Caledonia). “It will be a detection with meetings and matches“, explains Catherine Kabel, technical advisor in charge of developing and leading practices.

Recruiters will be present and if a player interests them, they will be able to contact her. Among them, many do not have the opportunity to do so (detection courses, Editor’s note), it is a platform to be able to be seen.

To be part of the Overseas selection, the 19 participants in the October course will have to pass technical tests.

The selectors, who will meet at the Paulet Clet stadium in Sinnamary, will observe the four performance factors: state of mind, playing intelligence, technique and physique. For good reason, these are the criteria of the recruiters who will be at Clairefontaine, affirms Catherine Kabel.

Last year, three Guyanese women participated in this detection.
