“Lebanon Debate”
The hostilities on the southern front continue to raise the level of anxiety among the Lebanese regarding the possibility of its expansion, putting all of Lebanon in the eye of the storm, and thus leading to what everyone fears, which is entering into an open war.
In this context, the military and strategic expert, retired Brigadier General Amin Hoteit, said that “what is happening on the southern front is still within the concept of restricted war, and the confrontation between the resistance and the Israeli enemy has become in the third stage.”
In an interview with “Lebanon Debate,” Hoteit explained, “The first phase was anticipation and readiness, the second phase was movement within the rules of engagement, and the third phase was the moment Israel violated the rules of engagement, so we entered into a war restricted in place, range, target, and weapons.”
He touched on the losses in the resistance, noting that “the enemy is using effective surveillance means via satellite, even though the resistance has destroyed more than 75% of the early warning system on the border, but it seems that there are technical devices that detect the resistance, which has enabled the enemy Who targeted them?
He stressed that “the decision to make a total war requires certain conditions and circumstances, and to this day these conditions and circumstances have not been prepared, especially since it will be a reaction because the resistance did not initiate a total war if there were no justifications and reasons to push it to do so.”
In conclusion, Hoteit pointed out that “things in the Gaza Strip have remained the same since the second day of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. The pattern is the same, and the enemy on the border is still adhering to the decision of restricted war. Things have not deviated from the course of the stage.”
