Slovak champion Petra Vlhova recently fell ill and missed crucial days before Sölden. She wants to be at the start in Austria despite her lack of skiing.

The first race of the season for Petra Vlhova is a time trial. 5 days from the Sölden giant, the winner of the big globe in 2021 is only getting back on skis following being ill. His coach, Mauro Pini, was able to speak with the Slovak media. “We have decided to travel to the Swiss glacier of Saas-Fee on Sunday, where we will try to prepare ourselves as best as possible for the opening race of the season,” says the Italian coach. After a good training in South America, Vlhova forced to calm things down before the season.

Four days on the snow in Saas-Fee

The reigning Olympic slalom champion spent 4 days training indoors before returning to skis. Four more days on the Swiss glacier are on the program, before making the trip to Austria.

There is no question of giving up on Sölden, Petra Vlhova wants to be at the start of the opening giant of the World Cup (October 28). His final preparations focus exclusively on this event and then Levi will come. The Slovak will be skiing and only skiing in the coming weeks, to catch up with her main competitors.
