Taylor Swift beats Scorsese at the box office

The film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which was filmed during a concert tour by pop star Taylor Swift, maintained its top spot at the North American box office for the second week in a row, ahead of the new film by director Martin Scorsese, according to the specialized company Exhibitor Relations.

Advance ticket sales totaled more than $100 million. When the film was released in cinemas, a number of the singer’s fans attended, wearing cowboy boots, and American theaters even encouraged their customers to dance, sing, and take selfies during the film’s screening.

Killers of the Flower Moon, the latest film by director Martin Scorsese, came in second in the ranking, earning $23 million during its first weekend.

The film, which lasts 3 hours and 26 minutes, talks regarding the murders that targeted one of the Native American groups, the Osage Indians, to monopolize its oil wealth during the early twentieth century in Oklahoma.

Third place went to the horror film The Exorcist: Believer, with revenues amounting to $5.6 million, starring Leslie Odom Jr. and Ann Dowd.

PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie came in fourth place with revenues of $4.5 million.

As for fifth place, The Nightmare Before Christmas came, which is a famous animated film directed by Tim Burton, dating back to the year 1993. It was re-screened, achieving $4.1 million.
