Brazilian workers found themselves suspended in the air following the collapse of the scaffolding deployed on a construction site in Sao Paulo which left one dead.
A video posted on social media last week shows workers hanging from chains, feet in the air 100 meters above the ground in a construction site, France Live reported on Sunday.
While working on two 33-story towers near Santo Amaro, in the south of Sao Paulo, the scaffolding connecting the two buildings suddenly gave way for an unknown reason.
The workers, clinging to the strength of their arms alone, remained in this difficult posture for several minutes, which for them seemed like an eternity before help arrived, a witness told local media cited by the newspaper “Le Parisien”.
Nearly ten trucks and a helicopter were used to evacuate these workers who were scared for their lives during this incident, into which an investigation was opened by the local authorities.
The victim’s body was found in the rubble of the construction site, but it is not known whether the victim was one of the workers suspended in the air or was rather on the construction site, added the same media.
