Actor’s Journey: Overcoming Depression, Family Loss, and Building a New Life

2023-10-21 19:08:20

In November 2022, seven months following starring in the popular ampay with reporter Fiorella Retiz, the actor lost his mother. Mired in severe depression -according to a medical diagnosis- his work became an important refuge from failing. Currently, he stars in and writes the scripts for the soap opera “Perdóname”, hosts “La banda del Chino” and directs the play “Los hombres no Llorn”.

“At the worst moment I turned to professional help. I was told that my depression might become chronic. He was the Aldo who burst into smiles when the lights on the set came on, because I have never liked to show my emotions publicly. I didn’t want to leave my house, I was very sad. But the time has come to be happy. One year following my mother’s death, I have decided to leave everything behind: what they said, what they didn’t say, the truths, the lies and the blows. I have to stop this mourning that I am still carrying in my body because otherwise I will be immersed in sadness all my life. I have many emotional responsibilities that I won’t be able to fulfill if I don’t get out of this. I’ll worry more regarding myself. The time has come to live once more, to try to be happy, which is the best thing I can do for my children and those who love me,” he agrees.

“Forgive me”

In mid-2022, producer Michelle Alexander proposed to Miyashiro to star with André Silva in a fiction that she had among her pending productions. Additionally, she asked him for an idea for her next project.

“I told him that for some time I had a slightly crazy idea, with Érika and I as the protagonists. I explained to him that despite being separated and having had problems, we might work together. This is how ‘Perdóname’ was born, a novel that allows me to act with my children (Micael and Fer) and share with Érika. Even though we are no longer a couple, we get along quite well. “We are developing leading roles (he plays Lito Acosta and she plays Lara Ferradas) at an unusual age to play roles of this type,” he comments.

“It was going to be done in March of this year, at the time of ‘Luz de Luna 3’. But the channel decided to move the schedule because this soap opera was coming strong. My idea and that of Érika, who is also doing theater like me (the play “Birthday Candles”), was to finish recording the novel and get hooked on theater, but now we are doing both. “It’s really exhausting,” clarifies the national artist.

How do you handle emotions in the most intense and romantic scenes? (This Monday the ex-couple characters will have their first kiss). “It’s the job. We are trained to feel what the character feels. That is. You don’t have to give it any more thought. They are intense, difficult scenes, but there is nothing more to it than that. Also, it’s not the first time we’ve recorded together, we’ve done like seven things. In the strong scenes we help each other so that everything goes well,” she clarifies.

Aldo Miyashiro, who admits to being a fallible man, having made a mistake and therefore having asked Erika for forgiveness, claims to be happy to see her happy, in a new relationship.

“When that came out and people wanted me f… I was smiling because it gave me some relief. That immense guilt I felt when she saw her suffer was fading. It helped me a lot to heal my wounds. Knowing that the woman I was with for 18 years has the opportunity to be happy, to rebuild her life without me, only she can give me happiness because I have always wanted her to be that way,” she says.

Actor children

He also details that the first time he recorded with his son Micael his legs shook with excitement. And he acknowledges that she tried for several years to convince him to choose another career. “But he defended his vocation tooth and nail. “He decided that he wants to be an actor and we are going to support him in absolutely everything,” he says.

“Before they entered the novel, I told my children that they would not have any advantage, that they would earn very little so that they would feel how hard and sacrificial this work is. Furthermore, it seemed unfair to me that they earn more than any other actor who has a 20 or 30 year career. I told them that they have to know that this is a job like any other, that they are still the same as always, that they are neither more nor less than anyone else for dedicating themselves to this. And that, when they ask for a photo or an autograph, they do it with the calmness that they have seen their parents do. “Let them make an effort, let them study their lyrics, let them arrive early and do what they have to do to earn a space,” he clarifies.

The competition

Given the upcoming premiere of “Dad in Trouble,” Latina’s new fiction, Aldo acknowledges that he strengthened his proposal to face the competition.

“Just like us, they are surely doing everything to beat us in the ratings. Competition is welcome, because the more fictions made, the more work there will be. May the best win,” he says.

“We are doing well with the program. Currently we are over 20 points. The people who come in at 9:45 pm stay until the end, they get hooked, they don’t leave. We are happy, calm and we trust that people are going to be even more hooked on what is to come, with Lito and Lara’s first moment of love because what we are writing is really cool,” she says.

About the court ruling

Likewise, it points out that the lawsuit for violence once morest women and family group filed once morest it by reporter Fiorella Retiz was declared unfounded.

“I received the sentence yesterday (Wednesday). The claim for special protection once morest me was declared unfounded and unfounded. I remain calm because following complying with all the legal procedures: I went through the social worker and the psychologist, it was proven that I did nothing, that I am innocent of the crime they accused me of. It would never occur to me to threaten someone with death. Luckily it might be demonstrated. People tell me I should sue, but I don’t feel it’s necessary. I don’t see myself going to the Judiciary for a legal dispute in the next few months. I have no resentment, nor desire for revenge. I have no animosity for anyone. I am at a stage where I just want to be calm,” he emphasizes.

“When I finish the novel I will dedicate myself to myself, to enjoy what I built. I will go have a drink with whoever provokes me, I will do activities that I stopped doing, I will get closer to the people I love, I will travel, I will walk with whoever I want. Rebuild my life with a partner? Fall in love once more? I haven’t thought regarding that, it’s not regarding looking for a partner. If someone comes along and I want to fall in love, I will. It has been a year and a half of blockade, in which I was worried regarding my children, the ones I love most, regarding asking Erika for forgiveness; but it’s over. Now I’m going to worry regarding myself,” she emphasizes.

If you might change something in your life, what would you change? “Some decisions I made, some moments when I surely mightn’t be who I really am. I wouldn’t tell you a specific fact because that’s what life is regarding, the ups and downs, failing, making mistakes, and assuming the consequences of mistakes,” he concludes.

“Perdóname” airs Monday through Friday at 9:40 pm on América TV.
