What if Apple wanted to create the perfect combination between the Vision Pro and the Apple Car? A recent patent suggests that this might be the case.
The start of 2024 will be important for Apple. This is in fact when Apple will market its Vision Pro, the brand’s new premium mixed reality headset. A new market in which the company is entering, thus wishing to conquer an audience which today has the choice between Oculus, Meta Quest and other PSVRs.
To give weight to its new product, Apple would even be ready to imagine improbable uses. According to a patent spotted by 9To5MacApple would like to make the Vision Pro an essential accessory when traveling in an Apple Car… the car the company has been working on for years.
This might be completely devoid of windows facing the outside. It would then be Apple’s headset which would make the transition between the passenger compartment of the car and its environment. The patent, available on this linkis quite abstract. “The VR system can provide virtual views that match visual cues to the physical movements a passenger experiences”describes the patent, with the aim of mitigating the effects of motion sickness.
“The VR system can provide immersive VR experiences by replacing the view of the real world with virtual environments. Virtual environments can be modified to accommodate a passenger when it is determined that the passenger is prone to motion sickness or exhibiting signs of it.”
