In parallel with the arrest of a man in Nantes on Thursday, the home of a person in contact with the perpetrator of the Brussels attack was searched in Dresden.

Special units from the German state of Saxony searched the home of a 45-year-old Tunisian man in Dresden, who was in contact with the author of the terrorist attack in Brussels last Monday. The search took place on Tuesday evening, reports the German newspaper Bild. However, the man would not be considered an accomplice.

The perpetrator of the attack, who killed two Swedes, recorded a video claiming responsibility for the terrorist attack, but also another in which he pledged allegiance to the Islamic State terrorist group. According to Bild, he transmitted this last video to 26 contacts (11 in Belgium and 15 abroad)notably to the man from Dresden.

The individual was released

On Thursday, a man who also allegedly received this video was arrested in Nantes. The identity of this suspect has not been specified. He would also be Tunisian.

The German daily adds that, according to the investigation, the man from Dresden did not not shared extremist opinions and that no incriminating evidence was found at his home. He was therefore released and is not considered an accomplice.
