NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Travis Etienne had two touchdown runs, Foyesade Oluokun intercepted a ball and returned it to the end zone, and Christian Kirk scored another touchdown following catching a short pass, as the Jacksonville Jaguars won on Thursday the 31st -24 over the New Orleans Saints.
Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence returned following suffering a sprained knee that kept him out of the final minutes of Sunday’s game, a victory over Indianapolis. He ended up leading the Jaguars (5-2) with 59 rushing yards.
He also completed 20 of 29 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown. Thus, Jacksonville achieved its fourth victory and is off to its best start to a season since 2007, when it went 5-2.
Kirk’s touchdown broke the tie with 3:08 left. The Saints (3-4) were in position to respond in the final minute, when they got inside the Jacksonville 10-yard line, but stalled with four consecutive incomplete passes.
