Calgary Flames Prospect Topi Ronni Faces Rape Allegation: Latest Updates and Legal Proceedings

2023-10-19 21:15:24

It seems to me that this is becoming more and more common in the world of hockey…

Calgary Flames prospect Topi Ronni had to leave his team in Finland (Tappara de Tampere) because he received a court summons in connection with a rape allegation.

The events allegedly took place more than two years ago, when Ronni was a minor. The main interested party was selected by the Flames with the 59th pick in the 2022 draft.

The allegation has not been proven in court (the date for the hearing has not yet been determined) and it is not known what fate will be reserved for the young man.

The Flames released a tweet this followingnoon to address the situation. It says the organization is taking things seriously and will let the legal process take its course before making any further comments related to the story.

The Tampere club said it would wait for the court hearing before making a decision regarding the young man’s future within the organization.

The Hockey Canada scandal, two former Victoriaville Tigres players who pleaded guiltys of having sexually assaulted a teenage girl in June 2021, a former University of Michigan doctor who faced 22 counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third and fourth degrees involving 10 former hockey players…

Yeah. It’s all starting to get worrying.

A lot of

– At least, he is honest with himself.

– The Ducks prospect will play his first career NHL game this evening.

– I think it’s too early to call Joshua Roy back.

– This bodes well for CF Montreal.

– It’s going to get messy.
