Calgary Flames prospect Topi Ronni had to leave his team in Finland (Tappara de Tampere) because he received a court summons in connection with a rape allegation.
The events allegedly took place more than two years ago, when Ronni was a minor. The main interested party was selected by the Flames with the 59th pick in the 2022 draft.

The allegation has not been proven in court (the date for the hearing has not yet been determined) and it is not known what fate will be reserved for the young man.
The Flames released a tweet this followingnoon to address the situation. It says the organization is taking things seriously and will let the legal process take its course before making any further comments related to the story.
The Tampere club said it would wait for the court hearing before making a decision regarding the young man’s future within the organization.
