Burt Young died on Sunday, October 8 in Los Angeles, as confirmed by his daughter, Anne Morea, to The New York Times. The famous actor, known for his role as ‘Paulie’ and Rocky Balboa’s faithful companion in the sagas with Sylvester Stallone, died at the age of 83.
The success achieved in the first installments of said saga led him to be considered by the Academy as best supporting actor in 1976. However, he also appeared on the Razzie list, known as the ‘anti-Oscar’, for his performances in the latest Rocky movies.

Gerald Tommaso DeLouise, artistically known by the name Burt Young, was an actor who participated in more than 160 roles, mainly remembered as ‘Paulie’ in the Rocky Balboa saga alongside Sylvester Stallone. He was born on April 30, 1940 in Queens and was also a boxer and Marine.
He began his career in 1969 with a participation in the television series known as ‘The Doctors’ and ended with a performance in ‘The Final Code’ in 2021. Other of his most important roles include ‘The Gang That Couldn’ t Shoot Straight’, ‘Cinderella Liberty’, ‘Back to School’ and ‘Last Exit to Brooklyn’.
