7 kilos of cannabis sold in the Vöcklabruck area: 2 men in custody

The two men are said to have sold a total of at least 6 to 7 kilograms of cannabis herb for a profit in the Vöcklabruck area, the Upper Austria police reported on Wednesday. They received the drugs from dealers in Linz and Vienna.

Investigators had the duo in their sights for months. As early as the summer of 2022, the 22-year-old and the 26-year-old were observed parking their car on the Ager and depositing a package of drugs in the bank development. In intensive investigations, detectives were ultimately able to prove that the two had a large number of drug deals with different buyers. The Syrians hid the cannabis in various locations in “bunkers” and took it out directly before handing it over.

The handcuffs clicked in March and some of the accused confessed. They were taken to the Wels prison and have since been sentenced to several years in prison – not legally binding. The investigation ultimately led the police to the people behind it. A 20-year-old Afghan from Linz and a 24-year-old Afghan from Vienna were also arrested and are in custody, the state police headquarters said on Wednesday.
