On the occasion of the 141st Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) which took place from October 15 to 17 inclusive in Bombay (India), Paris 2024 made one of its last major trips before the opening of the Games , next summer.
Also, among the key points of the current preparations, the question of Paralympic ticketing was addressed, just one week following its launch following the orchestration of the second edition of Paralympic Day at the heart of the capital.
Speaking to the media, Tony Estanguet made no secret of the encouraging beginnings noted in terms of the first returns.
Without revealing any figures, however, the President of the Games Organizing Committee (COJO) stated:
We are happy with the launch from day one. We didn’t know what to expect. I’m not going to give figures, but we’ve sold a lot of places and we already have sessions that are sold out.
[…] In the first few days we sold tickets for all sports and all sessions, including internationally.

The former athlete notably expressed the success encountered by the Discovery Pass which constitutes one of the attractions of the Paralympic Games ticket office, allowing spectators to discover several sports à la carte.
In the spirit of Paris 2024 to offer open and popular Games, the Discovery Pass is thus accessible at the single price of 24 euros, and gives access to para-sports located in the sectors of Paris Center or of Paris South. For the first, the sites of the Grand Palais (wheelchair fencing and para-taekwondo), the Invalides (para-archery and arrival of the para-marathon), the Stade Tour Eiffel (blind football) andArena Champ-de-Mars (para-judo and wheelchair rugby) are concerned, while for the second, the offer includes the entireArena Paris Sud (boccia in Hall 1, table para-tennis in Hall 4, and goalball in Hall 6).
The Discovery Pass is not the only system proposed by Paris 2024, theFamily Offer being also likely to appeal to the public due to its advantageous pricing.
Beyond that, the ticketing for the 2024 Games – with 2.8 million tickets, a level never before seen in France for a disabled sports event – is characterized by a unit sales system and in real time, in other words , without a draw phase.
The system is also marked by wide accessibility, the entry price being set at 15 euros (500,000 tickets) for all para-sports registered in the program.
More generally, if 80% of tickets are on sale for 50 euros or less, almost half of the tickets intended for the general public are advertised for 25 euros or less.
