Request to prepare for decarbonization, decentralization, and digitalization of the electric industry
After the launch of the government, nuclear power plant equipment companies were also encouraged to sign new export contracts.

Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Bang-gyu Bang visited the Korea Electric Industry Exhibition and Power Generation Industry Exhibition on October 18 and held a meeting to communicate with the industry.

[일렉트릭파워 이재용 기자] The Korea Electrical Industry Promotion Association (Chairman Koo Ja-gyun) held the largest-ever Korea Electrical Industry Exhibition and Power Generation Industry Exhibition at COEX Hall A and B for three days from October 18th to 20th, and Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Bang Kyu visited to communicate with the industry. After holding a meeting for the purpose, we observed the exhibition and encouraged the participating companies.

Attending the meeting on this day were Koo Ja-gyun, president of the Korea Electrical Industry Promotion Association, as well as officials from the electrical equipment industry, including Taihan Electric Wire, Hyosung Heavy Industries, Powermax, and Yeonsung.

Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Bang-gyu Bang emphasized, “Despite difficult conditions, exports of electrical equipment are doing well, exceeding $10 billion in exports in the shortest period of history in August of this year,” adding, “We are decentralizing to respond to the challenges facing the electrical industry such as decarbonization, decentralization, and digitalization.” He asked attendees to “actively expand investment and technology development related to power sources and intelligent power grids.”

In addition, the government emphasized that it plans to support companies’ investment efforts and support the development of the electric industry through regulatory reform, R&D investment, and tax support.

Afterwards, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Bang Kyu visited the exhibition hall and visited the nuclear power plant export special hall set up within the exhibition hall to encourage nuclear power plant equipment companies that have signed new export contracts since the inauguration of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.

The ‘Korea Electrical Industry Exhibition and Power Generation Industry Exhibition’, which marks its 27th anniversary this year, will feature 758 booths from 287 domestic and foreign companies, and various side events such as export consultations, conferences and seminars will be held, and 210 overseas buyers from 27 countries will participate, providing active export consultations. This goes on.

In particular, this year, a nuclear power plant export special hall will be established for the first time, and export activities for nuclear power plant-related products will be carried out with the participation of overseas buyers related to nuclear power plants from 16 companies from 11 countries.
