Outages have been increasing in recent weeks on Orange messaging. The service was still inaccessible on October 16, following a major incident in mid-September. Enough to annoy the operator’s customers.
If you have an email account with Orange, you have certainly had trouble accessing your email lately. Don’t panic if you’ve been in this situation: you’re not alone. And your hardware, software and connection are not to blame! On Monday, October 16, the service was inaccessible from mid-followingnoon. Many of the operator’s subscribers have complained on forums and social media, and reports have skyrocketed on Downdetector, the site that lists problems with online services. In fact, the problem came from Orange, which confirmed it on X (formerly Twitter) around 4 p.m. A message indicating that technical teams were on deck to resolve the problem, but without giving the cause.

Everything returned to normal in the evening, following 8 p.m. Or almost, because a few subscribers still reported connection problems on the morning of Tuesday 17. And others indicated having had problems in the previous days. Annoying, especially since the operator already experienced a similar outage on September 12, once more causing problems with accessibility to its messaging. This is not good press for Orange, especially at a time when the operator has once once more increased its prices (see our article)! The most annoying thing, in addition to the increase in breakdowns, is that no technical explanation is really given. And the excuses in the followingmath are not enough.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s a breakdown, a bug or another problem, the result is the same: the messaging remains inaccessible. And the only attitude to adopt is patience. As always in this type of situation, which is unfortunately unpredictable, the good reflex is to consult customer services, support forums, social networks and news sites on the Internet to find out if the problem is general or limited (see our article on breakdowns). Of course, it is always annoying to be deprived of email for several hours, especially during the day, but there are always other ways to contact correspondents in emergency situations (telephone, instant messaging, etc.). Let’s just hope that Orange puts an end to this series of repeated problems, if it doesn’t want to see its dissatisfied customers leave for the competition…
