WhatsApp tests menu on audio/video messaging button

After launching the feature instant video messagingo WhatsApp created an option in the application settings to disable the function, as many people were accidentally bumping the button to record audio or video messages. The messenger is now testing another interface model to accommodate both options.

According to WABetaInfo, the app is discontinuing the option to disable video messages because most users are not aware of this possibility. In a kind of replacement, WhatsApp is testing a small change to the interface in the beta version of the iOS app numbered 23.21.1.71.

In this version, when you tap the microphone or camera icons, a menu of options appears so you can switch between the two modes. Until then, when touching one of the icons, the app switched automatically, which might be confusing for those who are not used to video messages, in addition to the possibility of bumping into the area by accident.

This way, the interface makes it clearer what is happening when switching between the two instant media messaging options, adding another step, instead of automatically switching when tapping the audio/video button. The options menu is exactly that step, which should reduce the incidence of confusion involving resources.

The change is still being tested, restricted to just a few beta testers of the messenger app. According to the WABetaInfo, it will be expanded to more people in the coming days. It is not yet known, however, when it will reach all users, in the stable version of the app.
