The official highlight of the anniversary year recently took place at the Ried gymnastics club (TV). As reported, the Rieder gymnasts are celebrating their 175th anniversary this year and therefore invited everyone to a big party in the Jahnhturnhalle. More than 200 well-wishers accepted the invitation and were able to experience what TV Ried has to offer in a convivial atmosphere. In a varied festive evening, a specially designed exhibition regarding the activities and history provided deep insights into the club culture of TV Ried.

On the other hand, not only the past, but also the present and future were brought into the spotlight. The club’s youth showed a sporting excerpt from the gymnastics program on five different devices. For the first time, the Ried town band provided musical accompaniment.

A panel discussion with Mayor Bernhard Zwielehner, ÖTB federal chairman Werner Schultes and members of various age groups rounded off the ceremony. The topic was social developments and the resulting consequences for clubs, volunteer work and, of course, the diverse offerings of the Ried gymnastics club.
This is also reflected in the newly designed anniversary commemorative publication, which was available in printed form for the first time that evening. Not only the club’s 175th anniversary, but also the development of the Jahnturnhalle Ried – which is celebrating its 100th birthday this year – is illustrated in detail.
