US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has supported India’s bid to host the 2036 Olympics. Garcetti is also a former mayor of Los Angeles. He also said that he has informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he is ready to give any advice regarding the Olympics.
The International Olympic Committee had also discussed the inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The IOC Executive Board has already approved the proposal. Awaiting the results of the poll. “India is the leading country in the world in terms of cricket enthusiasm. “This is the best gift we can give to India and cricket fans,” Eric Garcetti told News18.

Garcetti also appreciated the hospitality of IOC member Nita Ambani. The 141st Olympic Committee meeting was held at the Geo World Center in Mumbai. Prime Minister Modi on Saturday publicly announced his desire to host the 2036 Olympics in India. Modi said hosting the Olympics is a lifelong dream and aspiration of 1.4 billion Indians. His remarks were at the opening of the IOC session.
”With your support we want to make this dream come true. We are ready to host the 2029 Youth Olympics. I am confident that India will get support from the IOC”, the Prime Minister added.

The Sports Ministry had recently stated that the government would support the Indian Olympic Association’s bid to host the Olympics. The last time India hosted a multi-sports event was the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. Recently many prestigious tournaments like Boxing World Championship and Asian Wrestling Championship have been organized in the country.
