In 1947 the British gave away a country that didn’t belong to them. Millions of Palestinians lived here before the Jewish state was founded. Since then, there has been ongoing conflict between opposing religions and ideologies. Especially because Israel expanded into Palestinian territory and Hamas responded with terrorist attacks. Now that the border fence has been overcome, the powder keg has exploded with a massacre and hostage-taking by Hamas. Israel has responded with 6,000 bombs on Gaza (regarding the size of Vienna) and threatens to starve its two million civilians until all 150 hostages are freed. The massacre of Israeli civilians is just as unjustified as the Israeli Defense Minister’s choice of words: “We are fighting once morest human animals.”
