Sunday October 15, 2023, the quarter-final of the France 2023 Men’s Rugby World Cup between France and South Africa was watched by an average of 16.5 million viewers on TF1 from 9:15 p.m., according to the Médiamétrie data cited by Pure Médias. This is the best TV audience of the year to date. The audience share rose to 62.1% among those over 4 years old.
TF1 indicates that a peak of 18.8 million people has been reached. The audience shares for other targets are: 70.7% for women responsible for household purchases under 50 (FRDA<50); 76% among 25 to 49 year olds; 85% among 15 to 34 year olds. The French XV were beaten by the Springboks 29-28 and were eliminated from their home World Cup.
TF1 will broadcast the two semi-finals of the World Cup:
Friday October 20, 2023: Argentina/New Zealand, at 9:00 p.m. at the Stade de France (Saint-Denis). Saturday October 21, 2023: England/South Africa, at 9:00 p.m. at the Stade de France (Saint-Denis).
