There is a simple technique to broadcast the range of your Wi-Fi throughout your home. Hint: This technique relies on a device you probably hold in your hand.
What’s more annoying than not being able to load a video of an episode of your favorite series because your Wi-Fi is down? Or to wait for a simple Internet page to load? Having properly functioning Wi-Fi is important in our daily lives today. Unfortunately, in certain areas of an apartment or house, accessing Wi-Fi is sometimes complicated.
Several solutions are known to improve the quality of the signal released by a box. This must be placed in a central room of the home, if possible in an open area and away from other wireless equipment. If following this the signal still remains weak in certain areas of the house, fortunately there are other solutions.
And surprise, this solution is not connection sharing, that is to say creating an Internet access point with your laptop which requires the use of cellular data. A technique which can be effective but which does not rely on the home Wi-Fi. To improve the range of the latter, it is advisable to broadcast it via a repeater.
But be careful, this is not regarding buying a repeater. While these devices are effective, their cost can be a barrier for many. In addition, their implementation can be complex for the uninitiated. And you certainly didn’t know it, but the solution most often lies in your pocket.
In fact, your smartphone can turn into a repeater to broadcast your Wi-Fi signal to any location in your home. One condition is required: own an Android phone. Here is a short tutorial to transform your laptop into a Wi-Fi repeater.
After going to the “Settings” application, you must select “Phone information” then click seven times quickly on “Build number”. Once you have entered your secret code (the code necessary to access the home screen of your laptop), a sentence will appear on the screen: “You are now a developer”.
Once this step has been completed, you must return to the settings and enter “developer” in the search bar. Then, go to the “Developer Options” section and then to “Networks”. Last step: you must click on “Activate detailed Wi-Fi log”. If you have made it to the end of this tutorial, you will be able to enjoy a good connection throughout your home. And resume your episode without worrying that it will be interrupted every two minutes because it takes too long to load.
