It seems a lot of gamers are willing to give the game a new chance following its troubled launch. Article: Jonas Mäki – Gamereactor.cn With 2018’s Battlefield V ultimately being a commercial failure for EA, expectations for the sequel Battlefield 2042 were high when it was released almost two years ago. But unfortunately, things got worse and regarding two months following launch, 90% of players had moved on to other things. Since then, concurrent player numbers on Steam have remained low, occasionally beaten by older games in the series like 2016’s Battlefield 1. But as we’ve seen many times before, hard work often pays off in the end when developers deliver on their promises. Over the weekend, it’s been free to play Battlefield 2042, which is something a lot of gamers will want to check out. As SteamDB revealed, it peaked at 102,009 players in the past 24 hours – which is very close to the game’s all-time high of 105,397 players at launch in 2021. These numbers show that word of mouth for the game is so good that people are actually staying and playing it longer. It remains to be seen how many of those gamers will continue to play now that the free period is over, but it seems like Battlefield 2042 will be getting at least a minor revival following a rough few years. Are you willing to give Battlefield 2042 a new chance to check out all the improvements? Source: Gamereactor.cn
