It’s done ! Microsoft has finalized its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The American publisher has already explained on Twitter that titles such as Diablo IV and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will not arrive in Game Pass in 2023. It doesn’t matter! There are at least 8 other games that we would like to see land on the service as quickly as possible, in order to play them on Xbox or PC.

Summary

Crash Team Racing Nitro-FueledCrash Bandicoot 4Crash Team RumbleTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2Spyro Reignited TrilogyBlizzard Arcade CollectionDiablo IIICall of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Microsoft unfortunately does not have its Mario Kart to bring together players who love this very special genre on the same sofa or directly online. This might change soon! Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is the remaster that everyone has been waiting for of the famous title released on PSOne. Magnificent and packed with content, the Beenox software is quite simply the best alternative to Mario Kart, even today in 2023. Easy to learn but also quite technical, it is a must-have fun game “for everyone” which would do a lot of good for the Game Pass library.

Crash Bandicoot 4

Xbox gamers often complain regarding the lack of AAA platform games in Game Pass. Sure, there was the excellent Psychonauts 2, but there hasn’t been much since. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time marks the return of Crash in top form. Designed above all for fans of the series and the old-school platform game, the adventure retains what made the charm of the first titles while bringing some welcome new features. The Toys for Bob software meets the specifications with great efficiency. If you need other arguments to want to discover it in Game Pass, tell yourself that what’s more, it’s pretty and funny.

Crash Team Rumble

We close the Crash Bandicoot chapter with Crash Team Rumble. Released on June 20, the latest spin-off of the famous license is shaking up our habits by offering a competitive multiplayer experience very different from Crash Team Racing. In Crash Team Rumble, the objective as well as that of your teammates is to collect as many “Wumpas” as possible (the fruits of the license) before the opposing team. Simple, right? Yes, maybe even a little too much. Despite different rules as well as bonuses/penalties, the software has not stood out for its depth of play. While the desertion of the servers threatens, its imminent arrival in the Game Pass would provide a little fresh flesh which might give it back the necessary boost to persist.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2

Activision Blizzard doesn’t just make FPS, MMORPG and platform games. If we remove the musical games that would be difficult to bring back into the Game Pass because of concerns related to musical rights and compatibility of accessories, the American group also plays sports, and more particularly in skateboarding . Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is actually a very good overhaul of the first two episodes of the series. The game is beautiful, fluid, the levels are detailed and some lighting effects are very pretty. In addition to the twenty levels, the two-player split-screen mode is included, with an online mode as well. In short, there is plenty to eat and drink, and finding it in the Microsoft service would be great news.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy

When we talk regarding Activision Blizzard, we immediately think of Call of Duty, Diablo, Warcraft or Crash Bandicoot. Yet we find other treasures in his chests, like Spyro the dragon. Spyro Reignited Trilogy includes the three episodes of Spyro completely graphically redone. Thus, the three legendary PlayStation games shine brightly with these remakes, although as far as the gameplay is concerned, they show the weight of the ages a little because of uneven level design and camera issues. The experience remains pleasant and will satisfy young and old fans of platform games.

Blizzard Arcade Collection

As Phil Spencer has often repeated, Game Pass must offer varied genres and styles, from AAA to indie games, including a little retro. This is why Blizzard Arcade Collection would fit perfectly into the Game Pass: it would allow former glories of the American brand to be put in the spotlight. With this compilation, the publisher takes us back to the 1990s by offering us an old-fashioned road trip with The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing and BlackThorne. From Blizzard’s 16-bit catalog, these three titles marked their era. In addition, the updated versions of these old titles include lots of bonuses (photos, videos, music, etc.), the possibility of discovering video walkthroughs, and also to put the original music of Deep Purple or even Black Sabbath in Rock N Roll Racing. Nice !

Diablo III

We understand, Microsoft and Activision should not bring Diablo IV to Game Pass in 2023. Let’s mourn… and invoke its big brother! After a complicated launch, Diablo III has gradually managed to turn things around. Today, Blizzard’s hack’n slash is complete, fun to play, and interesting for newbies and veterans alike. It provides an experience that is both rich and accessible, even today. Its search for accessibility at all costs has been criticized, but its content is so vast that it would be a shame to miss it. And to make matters worse, the handling of the controller is excellent.

Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare

Since it seems impossible to see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III arrive in the coming weeks/months in Game Pass, we would not be once morest seeing an old episode of the series land, and if possible the best. When it was released on Xbox 360 in 2007 (16 years ago already), Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a bomb.

It is precisely under the explosion of an atomic bomb that the campaign of this episode begins, whose impeccable rhythm and sustained staging will become standards that the competition will try as best they can to copy. Intense in its solo, fun in multiplayer, it is the starting point of Call of Duty mania. Whether it’s this episode or its remake released in 2016, we would be delighted to find it in Game Pass before the end of the year.
