Votes were counted in the Tachikawa City constituency for the Tokyo metropolitan assembly election (2 candidates) on the 15th, with Daisuke Ito (48), a newcomer to the regional party Tokyo Citizens First, and Retsu Suzuki (49), a newcomer to the Constitutional Democratic Party, representing the Communist Party, Reiwa support = was elected. Former City Councilman Hiroshi Kihara (47), a new member of the Liberal Democratic Party, lost. The number of voters on that day was 154,306. Voter turnout was 27.39%.
Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, special advisor to the Tokyo Citizens First Association, has repeatedly supported Ms. Ito, giving her an advantage in the election campaign. Suzuki gained support from opposition parties and increased her vote share. Kihara appealed for his experience as a former city council president, but to no avail, and the Liberal Democratic Party suffered consecutive losses following the Tachikawa mayoral election.
