LH Mikl-Leitner: A community with history, present and future

St. Pölten (OTS) This Sunday, numerous guests from business, education, tourism, associations, politics – including state governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner – and the population from Trattenbach and the neighboring communities celebrated the anniversary “100 years of the Trattenbach community” at a ceremony in the Trattenbach community center. After a celebratory mass, State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner said in her speech following the local and house chronicle created to mark the anniversary had been presented:
“Trattenbach is a community with history, almost as old as the federal state of Lower Austria,” and the community also focuses on everything that is valuable and important: “Our compatriots, traditions, our customs, our clubs, our cultural heritage and the Beauty of our country.”

With a view to the present, Trattenbach is a livable and lovable home, says Mikl-Leitner, “with an active club system that determines the quality of life and togetherness in the community.” There is also a committed elementary school, a great kindergarten, an excellent one Culinary and wide tourism offerings. In addition, the community is up to date in terms of infrastructure.

“With a view to the future, Trattenbach, like Lower Austria, stands for further development at the cutting edge,” said the state governor, and this is particularly important in current challenging times. Politicians are supporting the population financially with aid such as the new housing subsidy or the school start allowance. Right now we also have to make promising investments, for example in the areas of education, business, agriculture, renewable energies and “of course in digitalization, where the municipality of Trattenbach is driving forward broadband expansion with the construction of a fiber optic infrastructure by NÖGIG in order to participate in the global information society to participate.”

The success of Trattenbach was only possible “through cooperation in the community and between the community and the country,” Mikl-Leitner attested and concluded: “Thanks to the hard-working and committed people in this community who combine traditions and visions and live together, Trattenbach will continue to be a successful community, livable and lovable home in the future.”

Mayor Johannes Hennerfeind gave an outline of the history of Trattenbach, “which was characterized by ups and downs, dark and bright times, wars, but also development and great achievements.” Especially in the community center where the ceremony took place, there was a lot of passion and commitment and voluntariness. “Without the support of the state of Lower Austria and, above all, without the mayors who have worked with vision for Trattenbach from 1923 to the present day, we would not be able to celebrate this festival today,” said Hennerfeind. The mayor also thanked all the “helping hands that made this festival possible.”

As part of the ceremony, the house and local chronicle published for the anniversary was presented by former mayor Ernst Schabauer, who was awarded honorary citizenship for his services. Gottfried Dissauer, the chronicler of the first years of the chronicle, was also posthumously made an honorary citizen.

Furthermore, three fire brigade decorations were awarded to Michael Feuchtenhofer, Bernhard Feuchtinger and Harald Fischer “as a thank you from the state of Lower Austria for their 25 years of work in the fire service and in recognition of their achievements in the field of fire and rescue services during this time”. Fischer was also awarded the Bronze Medal of Merit from the Lower Austrian Fire Brigade Association “in recognition of his special services to the Lower Austrian fire service”.

The chairman of the Trattenbach parents’ association, Markus Tisch, also had his say, because at the same time as the community’s 100th anniversary, the parents’ association celebrated its 40th anniversary. The ceremony was accompanied musically and with various performances by the elementary school and kindergarten, the girls’ choir and the Trattenbach music club.
