On Saturday, Jimena Monteverde announced on her social networks the birth of her first granddaughter. The 49-year-old cook had already expressed her excitement when she heard the announcement that her son Victorio and her partner Josefina would make her a grandmother. Now she did the same with the arrival of the baby along with two photos that showed her happiness.
“I present to you Malvina,” the host wrote along with a heart emoji. In the postcard, the baby rests in her arms and she looks at her with the love conveyed by her first hours as a grandmother. The other photo reflects a closer zoom to Malvina’s face, with her eyes closed, her mouth open and two words that are worth a thousand images: “My life.”

Jimena always said that she was a mother at a very young age and during a visit to PH, Podemos Habla had surprised her by telling her love story and revealing that she met her current husband, Mariano Monteverde, because he was a friend of her father. “My husband is 5 years younger than my dad. “I have never done therapy in my life,” she joked to everyone’s surprise. At that time, she was 18 years old and he was 33. They married two years later, became parents of Victorio and Amparo, and are still together almost three decades later.
“He was the only man in my life,” Mirtha Legrand’s cook had said on Andy Kusnetzoff’s program. “It is a life choice and I am totally happy. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m not looking for anything. I’m really funny but you know that nothing has ever happened that I don’t want,” she added with her usual style and avoiding any malicious reference.
Today they are approaching thirty years of marriage, in love like the first day, judging by the emotional posts they show on the networks. “We learned to grow together. We form a family that I am proud of. Nothing is easy, not everything is happiness, we go through difficult times, we overcome crises and we get out!! That’s what it’s regarding, we respect each other and give each other the necessary freedoms, we accompany each other, we are friends besides everything. For many more years,” Jimena wrote years ago celebrating an anniversary.
Jimena Monteverde introduced her granddaughter Malvina
Since 2020, Monteverde has been cooking for Mirtha Legrand and Juana Viale’s programs, which was a great challenge. Jimena revealed that on several occasions she had sat with La Chiqui as a guest, until she was offered to take charge of the menu. And from then on everything was different.
Although he cooked for the Sultan of Brunei, served one of his dishes to the second richest person in the world and worked in a five-star hotel where he had to feed very powerful people, he acknowledged that the first time he prepared his recipes at Mirtha’s I was very nervous. “There was already care for Covid. Mirtha wanted to take her hand and I warned her ‘I’m drunk’ when the word was sanitized,” she recalled, amused. From behind the scenes she revealed that Mirtha likes simple but hearty dishes “like pasta, gnocchi, risotto”, however, Juana is a vegetarian and she prefers lighter preparations.
To prepare the menu, Jimena has complete freedom of action. “We are a team that cares and works to make guests feel like they are in the best restaurant in the world. The food arrives warm to the table, ready, with an excellent presentation. I try to make sure everything is perfect, from the color of the plate to the bread that accompanies it,” she acknowledged, self-demanding. And he assured with satisfaction that many guests ask him to repeat the dish and even take it home.
