Today, the 15th, the atmospheric conditions are extremely unstable mainly in Hokuriku due to a trough in atmospheric pressure accompanied by cold air of -18 degrees Celsius or less at an altitude of approximately 5,500 meters. Late tonight, watch out for lightning, tornadoes, severe wind gusts, hail, and sudden heavy rain.
Thunderclouds and lightning strikes occur around Hokuriku
Today, the 15th, due to the effects of a trough in atmospheric pressure accompanied by cold air of -18 degrees Celsius or less at an altitude of approximately 5,500 meters, atmospheric conditions are extremely unstable in the Hokuriku region and on the Sea of Japan side.
As of 2:00 p.m., there are heavy rain clouds and thunderclouds around Hokuriku, and many lightning strikes are occurring. In one hour, 19.5 mm of rain fell in Mikuni, Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture (until 12:27).
