JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –

Eastern Kentucky University suffered a 3-0 loss at Jacksonville on Saturday.

Sarah Mitchell led the Colonels (15-5, 5-3 ASUN) with 13 kills.  She made just two errors in 36 attempts and hit .306 for the match.  Paige Wagers had eight kills and a .500 attack percentage.

Jacksonville (6-14, 3-5 ASUN), out-blocked EKU 13-1.  The Dolphins hit .279 compared to .092 for the Colonels.

Anna Erickson and Jenna McNamara had 10 kills each for JU.  Alija Heins and Lyric Love each had six blocks.

With the first set tied 9-9, Jacksonville scored five straight.  Down 17-11, the Colonels answered with a 6-0 run to tie it up.  The Dolphins scored the next two points and led the rest of the set.  Barbora Hoskova’s kill finished it 25-20.

EKU went ahead 10-8 on a kill by Chloe Mason in the second set, before JU ran off a 4-0 run.  The Colonels closed within four, 19-15, but the home squad scored the final six points for a 25-15 win.

A kill from Wagers in the third gave the visitors a 15-11 advantage.  The Colonels led 22-20 following a JU error.  The Dolphins wrapped up the match by scoring five of the final six, taking the set 25-23.

EKU will return home to host Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast next weekend.  The match once morest Stetson is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday.
