The famous American magazine Forbes has revealed in recent hours its ranking of the highest paid footballers in the world. A ranking of ten players, among which we find the most famous players on the planet including Sadio Mané.
With the last summer transfer window which saw Saudi Arabia shake up the football market, footballers’ salaries have more than exploded this year. And who else to open this ranking than the two biggest stars of world football: Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Unsurprisingly, the 38-year-old Portuguese currently at Al Nassr receives a total of around 248 million euros per year, including 190 million between salaries and various bonuses. The rest of its income comes from its huge sponsorship, notably with Nike and Jacob & Co, a specialist in fine watchmaking. This is followed by Lionel Messi (35 years old), who has just joined Inter Miami, in Major League Soccer. The Argentine receives around 128 million euros with a share of his income coming from MLS partners Adidas and Apple TV. Accompanied by around 60 million euros in sponsorship, which has increased since his victory at the 2022 World Cup.

Behind these two superstars, we find a top 5 made up of Neymar, Mbappé, Benzema, Haaland and Salah. These players who play between Europe and Saudi Arabia receive fortunes between huge salaries and sponsorship. At 8th position in this top 10, comes the Senegalese star, Sadio Mané. Just behind the 50 million euro mark, the 31-year-old Lion saw his salary doubled with Cristiano Ronaldo’s club. Kevin de Bruyne (32 years old) and Harry Kane (30 years old) complete the ranking with around 35 million euros per year.
