“I buy!” The “Monopoly” of the SAEML (local mixed economy company) Pays de Grasse Dynamiques continues in the heart of the city.
Created in June 2022, it results from the association between the City, the CAPG agglo, the Banque des Territoires, Vilogia, Fragonard and Crédit Agricole, it is similar to “an operational, financial and legal tool for restructuring commercial premises”, indicated the mayor, Jérôme Viaud, during its development. A way, at the heart of an overall policy of revitalizing the center – media library, Martelly project, student life – of controlling the development of the commercial fabric, by purchasing the premises.
While waiting for the big brands…
The initial objective was for eight vacant cells (nearly 2,700m2), mainly on Boulevard du Jeu-de-Ballon, to lease them and install “five or six franchises simultaneously”. Of the “locomotives capable of generating supply and flow”, further explained the 1st magistrate, evoking discussions “with the national management of Zara, Stradivarius or Inditex”.
So, if the heavyweights are still not on the horizon, the SAEML nevertheless continues on its merry way. And, as they did last April for the cells at 25-27 and 29 rue Paul-Goby (total amount: 298,200 e), the elected officials validated, during the last municipal council, the guarantees of loan for the purchase of three commercial premises: at 22, place aux Aires (234,740 e), at 5, place du Patti (159,337 e) and at 4, place de la Buanderie (294,899 e).
“And are there already plans relating to these three acquisitions?” asks Philippe-Emmanuel de Fontmichel (Grasse à Tous).
In the perspective of the Martelly project
The mayor sweeps away: “Place aux Aires, this is the old HSBC bank and we are starting a restoration projecthe begins. Then, we talk regarding the old restaurant at the foot of the Patti hotel, ideally placed, in the long term, in the Martelly project. We are starting from the land reserve, to relocate another business there.”
Finally, Place de la Buanderie, “there is a garage part in the lower part, we are in discussion with the theater; there is also the acquisition of two apartments and three commercial cells, once more in the dynamics of the Martelly project.”
And this is how the SAEML Pays de Grasse Dynamiques continues to place its marbles. All that remains is to wait for the arrival of the Zac Martelly, revised this summer (start of work planned for the end of 2024), and whose final developments are expected for the second quarter of 2028.
