Wellington – There are signs of a surprisingly clear victory for the opposition center-right alliance in the parliamentary elections in New Zealand. According to initial projections, the National Party led by Christopher Luxon and its alliance partner ACT won 65 of the 120 seats in the New Zealand Parliament in the election on Saturday. The currently ruling Labor Party is likely to suffer its worst election defeat ever with just 32 seats.
